In the Seversky burial barrow were discovered remarkable glass goblets with golden setting – two complete and fragments of the third and golden settings of the upper and the lower parts of vessels. Goblets have two handles and are made of a bit green transpicuous cast glass, their shape is similar to ancient Greeks’ cantharoses. The first goblet’s lip, handles and pallet are framed with thin sheets of gold. The vessel has a low circular pallet which is expanding down. The setting of the vessel lip is made of a rather narrow golden plate the lower edge of which is cut in shape of purls. To the lower part of the plate braided chains with put on their endings cornelian beads and golden hollow pellets are hanged. The golden setting of handles is decorated with semispherical burrs and filigree ornament. The setting of the pallet has a relief ornament in shape of a rosace with eight-leaves. The second goblet is smaller in size and is different a bit from the first one. Glass cantharoses from the Seversky burial barrow are the example of how the Sarmatians adapted antique objects to their style. A craftsman decorated a traditional antique goblet with a golden setting with pendants and colorful inlay, adapting it to the nomads.
