HOMO ERGASTER (1,8 - 1,4 million years ago). Portrait sculptures of ancient human ancestors presented in the hall were made after the method of scientific human appearance reconstruction based on skull bone remains. This method was developed by famous soviet archaeologist and anthropologist, member of the Academy of Sciences Mikhail Mikhaylovich Gerasimov (1907 1970). The problem of formation of modern humans is far from solving, in spite of many bone remains of ancient human found. Their original homeland is Africa. Several waves of human ancestors peopling different continents started from there. Representatives of homo ergaster who lived in savanna were the first to leave African continent and settle other territories. Their remains were found, among other places, in Dmanisi (Georgia). According to the researchers opinion, homo ergaster had fast physical development, were early growing up, being completely formed at the age of 12. They had skills in stone treatment and using fire.
