It is an Anniversary edition of the Ministry of Transportation printed in Russian and French. Besides the railroad network are also marked postal roads and river routes; in Siberia and Manchuria are also marked gold mines and coal deposits. The map reflects the significant success of Russia in construction of railways in Asia, particularly in Central Asia and Siberia, where by 1900 was completed a major part of the Trans-Siberian railroad. Growth of the railway network, according to authors of the map, commenced in 3 main stages: 1836–1855, 1856–1881, 1880–1900. Within the First phase were constructed the first railroads in Russia. The second stage was characterized by activities of the Main Society of Russian Railways and other Private investor companies. Around 1880 took place a turn of the State policy in railroad development both in construction of roads owned by the State and in regulation of tariffs of private companies.
