Blade with a retouched edge

It is a large blade made of black opaque flint, with almost parallel edges, the upper end was lost in ancient times. Numerous facets of sharpening retouching are visible on the edges from the back. The edge retouching is not very regular. This may be due to the fact that the blade was used before it was treated. Presumably, such retouching could have appeared as a result of using the blade as a knife – for cutting or planing. It may have been used with a handle. Traces on the edges suggest that such products in some cases were used as meat knives, i.e. they could be used to cut the carcasses of animals killed during hunting.
The functional purpose: the tool was probably used as a knife.
This is a very common tool for the Paleolithic period.
