Dihedral burin
The tool is made on a small blank blade of light opaque flint. At one end the tool has symmetrical angle burin. Such tools were obtained by applying two oblique strikes to the end of the blank. The intersection of the chips formed a narrow working incisor edge. The edge is located on the long axis of the tool. At the other end of the tool a truncation burin was made, its edge is worked in a different technique: at first, the striking platform was retouched, and then the burin blow was made from the striking platform along the edge of the blank. The different angles of the two working ends made it possible to use tool cutting grooves of various widths and depths, increasing the functional capacity of the tool. Functional purpose: a common tool for creating grooves and slots in different materials. This is a very common tool for the Paleolithic period.
