Blade with a retouched edge

This is a large blade with a gable back made of black opaque flint. On the reverse side along the edges, there are traces of retouching as well as traces of the use of the object, while from the underside the ends of the blade are retouched, and the edges of the blade itself are not very smooth. It is likely that this tool was used for various purposes – both as a knife and as a burin. Examination of such objects with a microscope with further comparing of the traces of use with the traces on experimental products, reveals sometimes the traces of planing on wood. Functional purpose: probably, this is a multifunctional tool, which was used for planing, sawing, cutting materials of different hardness. This is a very common tool of the Paleolithic period.
