Backed edge bladelet

An elongated, regular-shaped chip with an evenly cut back plate was used as a blank for this tool. One of its edges is treated with small chips - retouching, which partially cuts off the edge and levels it, although, in general, it has a slightly convex contour. The second edge is almost straight and has no special finish. The ends of the product are not finished, one being wider than the other. These tools could be used as inserts in composite products, forming a long cutting blade. Sometimes, there are small chips from use on the edge without finishing. The plate could also be used as a dart for throwing tools, although they did not necessarily have a sharp tip. For the Upper Paleolithic period, the presence of bows and arrows has not yet been proven, but darts - small throwing tools - are known. Functional purpose: The plate could be used as an insert in a composite tool. It is a common find at sites from the Upper Paleolithic period in Eurasia.
