A core served to obtain chipped blanks of different dimensions and shapes for the further tool manufacturing.
This is a secondary core, as it was knapped from a massive primary flake that was removed from a nodule or a tablet. The striking platform was formed with a single strike, blank chips were removed from its from narrow edge, elongated chip negatives are visible on the core. The main purpose in core treatment were blade objects, such as bladelets and microblades. Some of the strike attempts having produced rough short creases seemed to be unsuccessful, perhaps it could be the reason why the core was discarded. The functional purpose of the core is to serve as the basis for producing chipped blanks that can be used to create tools. This is a unique find in Upper Paleolithic sites in Eurasia. It has a functional purpose - the core served as a blank for obtaining chips from which tools were made.
It is a unique artifact of the Paleolithic period in Eurasia.
